The foundation of Unity Volleyball Club is built on these 4 philosophies. Coach Carolyn Finn has spent the past 21 years living and coaching by these principals and is very excited to bring her dream full circle with Unity Volleyball Club.
Unity VBC had a great opening season. We had 5 Open Level and 3 Club Level that all participated In the 5 NERVA tournaments. We were super pleased with the play level and the performance of the coaching staff. Our Open Level teams attended a combination of Boston, Qualifiers, Winterfest and Albany tournaments. All in all, a fabulous first year. We want to thank everyone who participated in the success of our inaugural season!
For the upcoming season OUR NEW HOME BASE IS THE PLYMOUTH SPORTS COMPLEX!- formerly The JunglePlex - off Exit 5 in Plymouth. The new owners of the facility have brought in a fresh perspective and are in the process of installing brand new volleyball courts!
We look forward to the next season and are also announcing a 3rd level of play, Travel Team. This level of play will have 3 practices per week and an extra travel tournament for each team. We are also planning a U12 level this season. We have a great line-up of some returning coaches and some new ones. We can't wait to see you at tryouts! Keep practicing!
Trust Coach Finn's belief is, that each athlete must be able to TRUST in themselves, in their teammates, the program and most of all their coach. If there is no trust, players cannot be expected to learn, lead or play as a successful team.
Respect RESPECT is a fundamental requirement of our coaching staff; respect for the players, opposing teams and families. We will require players to mirror that philosophy and work towards achieving an inherent sense of self-respect at the same time. We at Unity will not accept coaches talking down to players in any way. Our goal is for our players to always walk out of Unity practices and tournaments feeling good and positive about themselves. Unity is a place to build great overall players and that begins with the outlook of these athletes as well as their skill.
Heart & Soul HEART and SOUL are key. You must play and coach with your heart. We believe if you leave your heart out of the game, you are missing one of the most important tools for successful coaching and playing. Our coaches will be tough, set the bar high and still use their hearts. Unity athletes are asked to bring their soul and love of the game every time they step on the court.
All teams will practice on Sunday and Open Level teams will have a second weekly practice. Travel teams will have Sundays and 2 weeklies.
All the Unity teams will participate in the 5 NERVA tournaments. All Open and Travel teams will be attending the BOSTON tournament. Open teams will have 1 additional tournament and Travel will have 2 additional tournaments.
Unity Volleyball practices will be primarily located at The Plymouth Sports Complex with secondary gym space at Silver Lake High School.
Unity Volleyball will offer a recruitment advisor for Open Level athletes looking to play at a college level, all divisions.
