Newly offered ACL Injury Prevention Seminar provided by Peak Physical Therapy!
Athletes involved in sports that require jumping, cutting, and pivoting have an increased risk of serious knee injuries, specifically non-contact anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears.
On Tuesday, August 11th, 2 Physical Therapists will educate athletes on proper jumping and landing mechanics, exercises to perform at home to decrease risk of injury and will provide athletes with a handout summarizing key points and exercises discussed during the seminar.
The purpose of this 15-20 minute demonstration, is to educate young athletes on the potential risks of ACL tears and how to decrease the chances of suffering minor-to-severe sport-related injuries by learning proper body mechanics and following an ACL Injury Prevention Program created by licensed Physical Therapists.
For athletes who are experiencing any pain during or after they play, with any other daily activities and/or have any additional specific questions/concerns, we encourage you to sign up for a free, one-on-one injury screen with the Peak Physical Therapists. Injury screening will take place that following Thursday, August 13th.
